“I have ordered” & “I have commanded”
These were the two challenging statements Elijah was faced with in I Kings 17.Vs 4 “I have ordered the ravens to feed you” vs9 “I have commanded a widow to supply you with food.” Imagine being presented with those two options: birds and widows. Surely Elijah must have felt a little uncertain…

Just the other day, Josiah learned to ride his bike. What an exciting moment in the life of a 5 year old! There I was unscrewing the training wheels to give it another try, and who would have thought this would be the day Josiah learned to balance and ride his bike. The first few days were a little shaky. We figured out if we gave him a target destination, he would successfully reach his goal. In December, the area director of Mexico called to tell us we have been asked to work in Durango City, Mexico. We also found out about a former missionary to this area that gave 43 years of her life to the people of Mexico. I decided to call her around Christmas time so I could learn more about Durango. She cried when I told her that we were going to Durango and she said she has been praying since 2000 that God would send missionaries to Durango to pick up where she left off. God’s plans are… (more…)
